Export to Photoshop

When I export a file from LR to Photoshop CS4 I get the following message:

The document has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB workd space.

Embedded: Adobe RGB
Working Spce: ProPhoto RGB

I checked my preferences in both LR and Photoshop and changed both to have the color profile as ProPhoto RGB. It seems whether I select to use the embedded color space or not the photos view ok on my monitor, but when I upload them to our local photo clubs web site they look dull and flat.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi John

When you say 'export', do you mean Export via the Export dialog or via Edit in Photoshop? If you're using the Export dialog, check your colour space in there.

When you want to upload to a website, you want to convert to an sRGB colour space as most browsers are not colour managed.

Can I ask why you are exporting to photoshop?

A "round trip" to Photoshop for edits is a common way to integrate PS into a workflow.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but....

What Sid and Victoria mean, without exactly saying it, , is that there should be an Edit in CSx (3 or 4) command available either from the menu, or right clicking the photo in Library or Develop modules. This sort of automates the PS process, and takes some of the hassle out of the export/edit/reimport process.

But as to where you problem is at the moment - the preferences that you've set in LR apply to the Edit in PS command, and when you export you choose the colour space in the Export dialog. That's where you've got it set as AdobeRGB at the moment.
