Has anyone tried to export a slideshow? This is what I am observing:
  • If I select a set of images and click on export, LR will attempt to export all of the images in the current folder or collection
  • The export will not complete no matter how long I let it run. It gets to 1' or 11% and stops regardless of the number of images.
  • Cancel never stops the task.
  • If I exist and return, select a different group and try again, LR ignores my selection and attempts to complete the previously selected group.
Has anyone seem similar behavior?

Thanks,
Michael

In fact i can replicate this on PC.

Initially it started to export all69 image i have in the folder, even though i only slected 1'.

Then i hit cancel, and LR stops at 11% and remains there with the progress bar on the top left in a state of limbo "cancelling task"

When i try to close LR, i dialogue box appears "Quit LR, there is a task in progress"

Are you on PC? If you could fill in your signature with your hardware specs, it will allow other to help you out.

Also, a another question, is there a way to aply the new export sharpening to the slideshow (once it works!)?

Point taken. I've filled in a signature.

yes, I am running Windows Vista.

I don't think so. As a work-around, I guess you could export sharpen to jpeg output files, and re-import them for your slide show. Not exactly convenient, and leads to that multiplicity of derivative files that LR is supposed to help overcome.

Of course, there's always the possibility that the output sharpening will appear in the Web and Slideshow modules in the future too. That'd be fantastic!

Not sure about the slideshow but I think so for the Web module, because the new HTML and Flash-Galleries have a sharpening setting, though it has no function in this Beta.

I must correct my last statment about sharpening in the Web module. It is really working in the Beta!

Last time I had tried only in Lightroom with the preview and didn't see anything, but after exporting a small gallery with and without sharpening I could really see the difference. That's great!
