Export partial metadata from one catalog to another catalog

Does any of you know a way to copy/export partial metadata from a catalog to another catalog?

This is the problem, I have a catalog in which I set some ratings and tags. Then I made a backup. After that I opened the catalog and worked again, this time I used some developing settings. At the end of the session I noticed that I mistakenly rated all my pictures with the same rating. Therefore I ended up with two catalogs that I want to "merge". Catalog 1 (my backup) has the correct ratings and Catalog 2 has the correct developing settings, how could I have both? Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi jrmex, welcome to the forum!

The only way you'd be able to do that would be with some kind of SQL statement actually manipulating the database. I don't think I'd risk it personally.

You could use http://www.timothyarmes.com/lrtransporter.php to export a list of the files and their ratings, and you may even be able to import them with a bit of rejigging, or at least easily redo the ratings based on the text file.

Victoria, I appreciate your suggestion. I didn't know people answer so quick in these forums. Your suggestion sounds risky and complicated, but I think it is worth the try. It is better than the other ideas I had. Thanks again.
