I am having an issue that when I export from LR I lose quality; details:
I import my photos make all necessary exposure corrections and then apply punch and portrait , everything looks great in LR. I then export to either tiff or jpg full quality and it is as if I never processed at all. Pictures are flat and unsaturated. I have attached my export settings.
Thx

This is because you are viewing them exported in ProPhotoRGB and they are non-color managed Apps. Try exporting in sRGB and see how they look. What are you using the images for? Just to show this way? Print?

Preview on the mac is color-managed. If the problem is the color space (also my guess), then it should look just like it looks in Lightroom. Does Preview look different than Lightroom? If so, can you give us a screen shot that includes both at the same time?

I think you are right about color space ; the first time I exported into prophoto 16 bits using resize to from 1'MP to 7'' long. I then viewed in preview and on web. This time I exported adobe 1998-8 bits, resized in PS to 7''*467 24' ppi and saved for web. The top one is viewed in preview the bottom in PS. although the color is off on top at least it has color .Can anyone suggest a work flow(settings) for exporting in LR for the web that will give best results. My files are 1'MP average and I must reduce to 7'' * 467.
Thx

The file did not upload because it was to large I had to compress so hopefully you can still see the difference.

Sounds like you're overcomplicating it to me, if the destination is the web.

Set the Color Space to sRGB, and check the Resize to Fit box and specify your units in pixels. Resolution (PPI) is irrelevant for this purpose. That'll do it...

That said, your problem doesn't look like the usual colorspace problem -- the Preview version is more saturated than the PS version on my (calibrated) monitor. I wonder whether you've got some default set in PS that is overriding the embedded color profile.

I followed your advice, they look good on my monitor(calibrated) and then I look at them on a windows monitor and they lose about half their life. So is there ways to sharpen on export, the images look soft at 7''*476 72ppi on the web.

Thanks all for the help

Currently no sharpening ability upon export from Lr.
Since you have PS CS3, a droplet action will be very simple for you to kick the images a little crispness before web publishing.

If you need details. PM me
