I inadvertently imported images into the wrong folder in LR (2.4). The digital images are in the correct folders on the computer and backed up on the external hard drive. How do I export the the images from one LR folder to another? Can I select them all in the library module or do I use another one. Must they be sent as a catalogue or collection? The new folder has already been created in LR but the image files don't want to change! I tried to reimport them from the CF card but I got the "identical image error" message since they are already in the database. Thanks. Robert

[/quote]The term Export might be confusing since in LR it means something different from what you intend.
What you want to do is move the images to another folder. Find the images in LR and in the grid module select them all (at once or in batches). Then in the lef panel in the "Folder" section, expose the folder where you want the images to live. Now With the mouse, grab the images selected in the grid and start to drag them. Your mopuse pointer with turn to a stack of images. Move this stack over to the exposed folder and hover the stack over the folder tree. when the folder that you want to move to is highlighted, drop the 'stack' of images onto the folder. LR will move the images on the HD and reset its pointers in the catalog.

If Cletus' excellent advice doesn't seem to work for you, verify that you're clicking on the actual images to drag them, and not the gray frame around them. (This is a little idiosyncracy that catches almost everybody)
