Hi

First post. Is there a way to expand the development panel? I find the default size rather small adn would like to know if the panels can be undocked or expanded (enlarged)?

I used ACR in tne past and find their development panel the right size and easy to make small adjustments.

Thanks
Patrick

If you float the cursor over the left edge of the Develop Panel the cursor will change to allow you to widen the panel by dragging the edge.
No you cannot undock the panel however you can place a feature request for that ability using the link bug/feature in the blue tool bar up near the top of the page!

Welcome Patrick, enjoy!!
To help us help you could you please take a moment to fill in your signature in the "userCP' that is found in the nav-bar at the top left of the page - thanks.

Thanks Geoff

I will fill out my signature shortly.

I recall reading somewhere that the panels in the right section of the develop module can be expanded by clicking the panel header.

I am not home now but is this correct?

Cheers Pat,
Each pane in the Develop Panel can be expanded or collapsed with the little triangle in the top right of each pane.
This is the same for all panes in all panels and modules.

Or, if you have your hands on the keyboard ctrl/cmd - ' thru x will toggle the right hand panels (RHP) in order from top to bottom, open/closed individually. (X, the bottom panel # of course depends on how many panels in the current module).

I add this, because keyboard shortcuts, while fairly well documented both by Adobe and third parties elsewhere, seem to remain mysteriously arcane in many circumstances. I've had this particular one burned in my brain, because to navigate photos in certain modules, with certain tools selected, left and right arrow don't work. You need crtl/cmd-arrow to move left and right on the filmstrip. My clumsy fingers often slip and press crtl-Keypad ' and instead of moving right, my Develop Histogram disappears!

Thanks

Is there a way to move the development slider one step at a time. Someone told me that I could rest the mouse over the panel i.e say 'Exposure'. The Exposure text gets highlighted and then I could use the left and/or right arrow key to move the slider one step at a time. I've tried this and only move me from one picture to another but not the sliders. I find the sliders harder to be accurate compared to ACR. Is there a trick to moving the sliders to get the adjustments correct? I try to move the slider ever so slightly but alwasy moves beyond what I actually want.
Thanks
Pat

Thanks Geoff

Yippee!!

I found that shortcut in Victoria's list. It's the '-' or '+' sign:cheesy: Oh happy day....oh happy dayayay...when Jesus walk...when Jesus walk...Ooops..sorry got carried away over this revelation

Brilliant!!

You can adjust the sliders in small increments by holding 'Ctrl' as you slide them; this decreases the sensitivity x1'.

Or the up and down keys while you float over a slider, without having to click first. That's my favourite by a long shot!
