I first encountered this error message in Lightroom Classic 10 and the problem has continued into Lightroom Classic 11. When I switch folders, I sometimes get the following error message:

"Could not complete the folder move. An unknown error occurred."

I'm not really moving anything from one folder to another, just switching folders. Has anyone else encountered this?

Is there a chance you have a 'sticky' left-mouse button? (or a 'heavy' finger' :))
Your symptoms sound like you [Click] on the new folder and the mouse button remains active when you move the mouse. So LrC believes you want to move the new selected folder (to an undefined new location).
Try another mouse.

Rob likely has the answer. I just duplicated the problem.

It's easy enough to do. I do it periodically in various programs by mistake. Heavy index finger.
