hi there,
without actually thinking to get rid of my epson SPR24'' not printing at all with leopard 1'.5.4 problem I installed the newest update 1'.5.5.
having looked in the fixes announcements of this version and not having found anything concerning the printmodule, I kicked on LR2 and gave it a go and voila...( prior to that I had an "old" tiger system installed on my drive and was rebooting all the time just to be able to print at all !!!)
now it´s printing again and it´s got a somewhat different printing window that comes up.
and that after having epsonsalesmen in amerika telling people to get a new printer, cause they don´t expect this problem to be solved ever.
isn´t that crazy?
so now I don´t know whom to thank. epson or apple ? or adobe even???
although I suspect, that the bug was on the apple side...
cheers to all that had the same problem and let´s hope they all keep in mind that we´re not buying new stuff all the time( although they´d probably like us to)

oh no,
just transfered my whole account to a brand new mac pro tower and bang,
s.o.s.
same problem again, nothing happening when I print from LR2.
the print job just vanishes.
any Ideas?
cheers, stephan

Sorry to hear that !! To help us help you could you please take a moment to fill in your signature in the "userCP' that is found at the top left of the page - thanks.
I am still using Tiger !!

Have you tried re-installing the latest printer driver and/or resetting the printer queue

done it all, reset the printing sys, reinstalled the printer software ( the driver`actually pretty old). but there`s no newer available.
the funny thing is that it actually worked on the powerbook.
cheers, stephan

Was the powerbook a pc chip or intel?

mac book pro( intel), that just gave up, with the videoengine blown.
luckily one week befor the warranty expired.
still trying to get the 24'' to say something, but nothing helped so far.
cheers, stephan

Stephan, I had a similar issue with my R18'' a while back. I think that in the end I reinstalled the driver and maybe connected through USB not firewire and turned everything off, power plugs out, etc for an hour or so and then rebooted. It is an Eposn/Mac thing I reckon. Everything just disappears in the print queue?

yes, everything just disappears in the print queue. and the funny thing is, it didn't happen anymore on the powerbook after i had updated to 1'.5.5
but a.t.m. I can't check what's different to the macpro, since the PB is in repair.
I'm connecting through usb anyway, but perhaps I should try with firewire?
what's your guess?

Yep, it was something to do with the printer set up menu in the OS - I was/am still using 1'.4 when I had the issue and I see you are using 1'.5, so you may have to reset the whole print system.

It was a real PITA but just came right when I did something !! Was a year or so back.

Can't hurt to try firewire. You could also try re-downloading the 1'.5 update and running it again, this sometimes fixes things.
