epson 2400 doesn´t print with LR2 and leopard!!!

hi guys,
don´t know, if i´m right here, with my question.
I´m on a MacPBPro with 1'.5.4 installed recently.now I´ve connected my SPR24'' via usb, as always and the printer shows up in the print dialog and in system profiler and prints test pages from the print and fax utility, but when I hit print from LR2, it behaves like always,saves and says task completed, but nothing happens.
when I switch quickly to the print queue, it shows the task briefly in the window and then it disappears and nothing happens.
I´ve repaired permissions , trashed the preferences, put my LR2 back to 32bit mode, a.s.o.
the print driver says 6.12, which is the newest I can find anywhere...
I´M CLOSE TO GOING back to 1'.4...and LR1.4
any suggestions?

Just bumping this thread, as I haven't spend much time with Print. I have a feeling it was a Leopard-driver issue, but don't quote me on that.

I will see what I can find out. I use a 21'' and am about to upgrade. Ifeel I have seen the problem elsewhere but I need to check.

Does it send a piece of paper through? I am able to print fine with LR2 and my R24'', as long as I don't change paper sizes. I am using Tiger 1'.4.11 and (I believe Epson driver 5.7.1). I get all kinds of errors. There supposedly is memory in the printer that, I'm told, can get stuffed with a job and must be flushed. A hard boot by pulling the cord and deleting the jobs in the queue might do it. There's supposed a key combination on the printer that flushes memory too.

Sorry not ot have gotten back to you on this but things have been hectic. I am afraid that I haven't been able to find a solution yet!. I will keep trying

hey andrew,
the thing gets more complicated.when I changed the driver to the gutenprint
v5.1.3 , the printing started and worked.now a few days back I tried again, but the prints came out totally washed out, colurless.
I brought the printer to the shop, they printed connected to a PC and voila, perfect!!!
Then I reinstalled the whole leopard system from the CD and guess what, no improvement at all!!!
prints are non usable.and the original epson driver is nowhere to be found.
this isn´t only a LR2 problem, but some thing systemrelated.
what should I do?

Let me add my voice as well. I was getting faint prints from both CS3 and LR 2. I went to Epson and re downloaded the 24'' drivers. The FAQ said if your driver said Gutenprint 5.3.1 you had the wrong driver. I deleted the printer and reinstalled the driver, and presto the Gutenprint thing was gone. Now the color is perfect with both CS3 and LR2, only what is supposed to be a full sized print comes out as a 4 x 6 size on letter size paper. I have gone through about a half a box of Premium Luster......sigh.

Okay, courtesy of a post by Jeff Schewe in the Adobe User to User forum.... it works. First I went to System Preferences .... Print & Fax .... and RESET PRINTING by holding down the CTRL key and selecting the 24''. Then I re-installed the epson12491.dmg drivers and everything appears to work properly in LR2 with Leopard. I obviously haven't tried out everything but at least I got a perfect print. I hope this helps (and it stays that way).
