Embedded JPEG's

I just noticed some of the filenames of my photos (displayed on left top of each photo in Loupe View) contain the text "filename.CR2+JPEG". I never had an intention to import any embedded JPEG's, so I don't know how this happened. I want my original raw files in the catalog, and I only export to JPEG whenever I need some photos (after which I delete them again).

Is this something that is done automatically, and can I switch it off? And is there a way for me to filter these embedded JPEGs so that I can easily find and delete them?

If you have not, in PRefs, selected, treat JPEG as separate image, and they are not with the raw in a stack, this is jut an indication by LR that it notes that a matching JPEG is present on the HD with the RAW. You need not worry about it. If you erase the JPEG or shoot without that combo, this
note will not appear.

This usually happens when you shoot raw+JPEG in the camera. As Don says, LR notes the existence of the JPEG file, and treats it as a sidecar -- when you backup, move, rename or delete the raw file in LR, it will do the same to the JPEG for you, as it would for any other sidecar file.
