editing in PS CS3

hello,
i've been able to figure out LR pretty good so far and have done editing in PS CS3 using 'right click' - 'edit in photoshop' feature BUT for some reason, on one of my collections it simply does NOT work :shock:

i've restarted the computer
tried to edit in noise ninja and THAT works

the only thing that happens is that PS loads BUT NO photo comes up.

any ideas as to what i've done wrong with this particular collection?

i've even gone as far to remove the photos and then re-import them.

and STILL, the only thing that happens is that PS loads BUT NO photo comes up.

any ideas as to what i've done wrong with this particular collection?

my programs are installed properly, especially if it works with other collections. and whats up with the !!!! mark?

There is some weirdness with LR2 and Edit in Photoshop - should be fixed in the next release.

liquidmonkey, you could try creating a new collection, and dragging the photos into that.

since none of that works, how would i get that photo into PS and edit it?
i've tried 'open', 'open as' and 'open as smart object' and all i get is the photo in the RAW thinger.

i need it in PS so i can do some major touch up but not sure how?
and once thats sorted, how should i save it and then whats the best way to put it back into LR?

sorry for being such a nOOb :roll:

Ampersands '&' in file names can cause problems, too.

Have you tried also adding CS3 as the 'Additional External Editor' in the External Editing Preferences? If you already have Noise Ninja there, you can save that as a preset and add CS3 again, as an additional preset, and then all four options:

CS3 as the primary, Noise Ninja as the additional, and Noise Ninja and CS3 as presets should show up in the right click 'Edit in ....' drop down.

Just a suggested workaround, sometime helps in other CS3 weirdness situations.

YES!! that totally worked!
a bit embarrassed i didn't try that one too :(

ok, just so i get it all straight in my head...

LR creates a TIFF and puts that into LR and then switches to PS for my editing joyness
i save the changes in PS and go back to LR
in LR there are 2 photos now, one a RAW and a TIFF

any future changes i'll need to make in my TIFF then, right?
will the changes be written to the TIFF automatically?
