Editing an image in CS2 from Lightroom issue

Having made all the appropriate changes that I wish to make in Lightroom, I then right click on the image and hit Edit in Photoshop CS2. I then select Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments. CS2 starts up with my image ready for further editing. The filename (PSD) is then appended with the word Edit i.e. photo-Edit.psd. When I save the file it appears back in Lightroom exactly as I expected it to. If I now want to open the photo-Edit.psd, I get yet another copy with the word Edit appended onto the end of the filename i.e. photo-Edit-Edit.psd. Even if I just close it without making any changes, I still seem to get another file called photo-Edit-Edit.psd. This is really annoying me and I end up with multiple copies of the psd file but with lots of Edits appended to the filename. What am I doing wrong? How do I prevent this from happening? I just want one psd file for each RAW file. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am a total Newbie to Lightroom.

When you wish to re-open the PSD version as-is choose "Edit Original" instead of "Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments".

Thanks. I have discovered that part of my problem was the fact that the default colour profile was set to ProPhoto and my CS2 profile is set to Adobe1998 so every time I opened a file for editing it was asking me if I wanted to change the colour profile. I was converting the colour profile to Adobe1998 (forgetting that I was actually making a change to the PSD) so when I closed the PSD, it knew I had made a change and so created another copy. What an idiot I am!
