LR v1.4
I use GIMP for advanced editing and Lightroom has a direct way to send a photo to Gimp under Menu Item Photo which works fine.
But when I save the photo in Gimp, it
1. Does not return to Lightroom, it goes to the folder where the original photo was, but I have to Import it into Lightroom. Can this annoying extra step be avoided?
2. After I Import it into LR, I can see the photo all by itself. Why is it by itself and not in with the group of photos where I sent it to GIMP from?
3. If I go to the group of photos where I sent it to GIMP from, sometimes the photo is there and sometimes it's not. Where is it?
4. If I try to reimport it to LR, LR says it's already imported and asks if I want to see it. If I say yes, it shows me the one photo alone. How can I tell where it is? How can I see a path to where it is? (If I look for it on my computer it is in the folder with all the other photos where it came from, but in LR it is not with them.
5. Then sometimes I can find the photo in the Library left panel Library under "Already in Catalog." If I drag the photo to the folder it came from, LR says it is already there. But I can't see it in there.
I usually can get the photo where I want it somehow by struggling with it long enough. Why is this such a struggle and mess?
What is this run-a-round mess?
