Edit in PS keeping LR2 pixel dimensions

I need to work on images in PS using the exact pixel dimensions I set LR2 to crop them at. Right now I set the crop at certain dimensions, when I go to edit in PS the dimensions are way off (the proportions are right but they're off by a multiple factor). Does it have to do with the resolution it's opening the file in PS?

Sure. I'm using Photoshop CS3 as my external editor. I have the prefs set to edit in external editors as a TIFF, 8 bit, at 24'dpi. When I'm in LR2 I have the crop ratio set to 9''pxX53'px. Once I open the file in PS (from LR) it opens it up as 24'dpi, but at 4288pxX2525px. Why doesn't it open it at 9''pxX53'px like I set the crop ratio to in LR?

Ah, ok. That's where you're going adrift. LR works slightly differently to PS - when you crop in LR, you crop to a ratio, not to a size, as it's non-destructive. When you export, you set the size, or when you open into PS, just go to Image Size and set the dimensions - the ratio should already be correct.
