Drive letter assignments.

XP dynamically assigns drive letters depending on what is attached to a specific computer. Like many people I have two large drives, in this case a Drobo and a 5''GB World Book which I use as the primary drives for LR files and back-ups. I carry these around with me. I have 3 different computers in different locations and when I attach the drives they draw a drive letter assignment dynamically depending on what gear is attached to each computer.As is well known this causes LR to say can't find the photos. Is there some way of permanently assigning drive letters to a specific drive to prevent this problem?

Welcome to Lightroom Forums!

Give a name to the volumes (drives). Right-click Computer and choose "Manage". Go to "Disk Management", choose your drive, right-click and select change drive letter. Choose one that is free on all computers.

EDIT: Do this on each computer.
