I know how to sort my catalog by lens, but I would like to drill down further and look at actual focal length data in order to make a new lens decision.. I don't see a way to sort the grid view and display the Metadata by FL.

Any suggestions?? Smart Collection? Display the data in the header of an image in Grid View?

Also, my catalog is set up with master folders by year with all the sub-folders with data/location specific names inside.. I don't think there is a way to select two top level folders to be included is there? Say 2''7 & 2''8 and all their subfolders..??

And to answer the first question, no, I don't see a way to sort by focal length either. But you can display focal length as one of the fields in the grid view... That's about the closest I can come in Lightroom.

You might want to look into ImageReporter from Marc Rochkind -- it reads Lightroom catalogs and reports interesting statistics, including this.

Michael, as to the first question, a much requested feature, not yet available. There are some 'text' hacks for finding '387 mm', and the like, but not feasible for a range, and kind of a PITA, besides.
