Hi All,
My camera: Sony a6500
I took lots of photos and videos last week on vacation. When I insert memory card into computer, almost no videos appear (a few do), so I can't download them into LR.
Solution?
Thanks!
Joel

I have that same camera, and have the same result regarding video. Probably LR just does not recognize the file - in my case I suspect it is because I often shoot LOG files, but the camera will produce .mp4s. The way I deal with it is to not automatically copy everything into LR, but to first snag the movie files and process them another way.

It's odd that a few do. If you copy the video files to the hard drive, do they import ok from there?

Hi Virginia,
When I insert the memory card, the video files are not shown at all, so I don't know how else to copy them directly to the hard drive. Would inserting the memory card to a card reader help in this regard? (I've not used a card reader - I have merely been inserting the memory card directly into the Mac.)
HOWEVER, I found the answer - I am at work now, but on my home computer, I took a screen shot of what I needed to click on to enable the files to be directly imported to LR. Shall I post it to this thread when I get home this evening?
Thanks,
Joel

This screen shot shows how I was able to download the video clips from my memory card.

Ahhhhhh, and it wasn't working when you selected the device at the top? What video format is set in the camera? Is that AVCHD?

The format is XAVC s 4K. I like this format because I like to "capture" stills from my video, and this particular format gives me reasonably good clarity for those stills.
