I have been trying to download LR2 for the last two days. I have the beta. When I get to the page to order, everything locks up.

I'm using Vista and IE7. Other than the Adobe page, everything seems to be working fine.

I do live in Mexico, and have a Mexican ISP, and am trying to access the site to download from the U.S. Adobe has had some peculiar rules about Mexico so I'm thinking maybe that's a problem.

There are restrictions (Federal laws) about exporting software outside the United States. You need to click on the correct link to indicate you are in Mexico.

Once you do this, I believe you will be able to proceed.

I like Lightroom very much and dislike Adobe equally. I got Lightroom1 but can't get Lightroom2. It isn't federal law. I can't even get the free 3'-day test.

The reason I never used Photoshop is Adobe refused to let me order since I lived in Mexico. I have a U.S. credit card, a U.S. billing address, and am a U.S. citizen. The best Adobe could say was that I should have a friend order it on a CD and then mail it to me. When I tried emailing Adobe they never responded so I eventually phoned them and ran up a large international call bill while I was on hold. I will not do that again.

It's a shame, really. I like Lightroom. I guess I'll wait for Bibble5.

Sorry to hear that Patrick. We can't speak for Adobe's rules unfortunately.

Just piggy backing on this thread rather than starting a new one -

What's the best way to get the upgrade to Lightroom 2 here in the UK?

Download or disc

I've been checking to see if Amazon are selling LR2 but they're not showing it listed yet. They haven't even dispatched my pre order of Scott Kelby's book, even though LR2 is now available

If you've got a 3' day trial Mike, I'd wait and see if Amazon come up with a discount on it. Their price is usually better than Adobe's. Or sign up for a Quidco account (www.quidco.com) and you get 1'% cashback on Adobe direct orders, which all adds up!

Hi Victoria

I have the full version since it first came out. The box version is handy as it's harder to lose but I must admit I've been tempted to just go for the download for speed but I feel hard of paying Adobe's price plus what I assume is 21% VAT

Thanks

Mike

Sorry Mike, I mean you can download the v2 trial which will give you 3' days free use, in which time you can wait to see if anyone comes up with a better deal! ;)

Ah! I see now. I have the v2 Beta but I will d/l the v2 trial and see what happens re Amazon, etc.

Thanks

Mike

I see Amazon now have it listed for £78.98, but rather bizarrely state

This item will be released on September 15, 2''8. Pre-order now! Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.co.uk.

which means my trial will have expired by then. I wonder if that's also the date they play to dispatch Scott Kelby's book :-(
