Does the DNG hold its manipulations like an xmp file?

I was a bad girl and moved all (8' gigs, so not terrible) my 2''8 weddings outside of lightroom and then changed the original hard drive name. I of course got the red "where is this" on my files. But now, when I am importing the folders for each wedding (which have not changed in name) all my work on the DNG's is gone, they are showing up looking straight out of the camera. The Cr2 files appear ( I could be wrong) to be keeping the work I've done on them.

So, does a DNG work with Lightrooms changes in any other program like a Raw would? Sorry if this has been answered, I have been searching many of the threads with no luck.

Back one step.... why are you reimporting them? Just right click on the red folders and point them to the new location.
