Does LR Read Settings from .NEF Files?

I'm just wondering, if LR reads the correct camera settings applied to Nikon RAW files? Things like saturation, sharpness and custom curves? It seems to be loading a "LR Default" to all imported photos. Does not seem to read any sort of settings applied in camera? Just wondering if LR does this this, or is there a way for it to apply these (automatically detecting settings on import) settings if it doesn't?

No, LR does not read these settings. Only something like Caputre NX would be able to do that. One thing that you can do, though, is create a develop preset that can mimics these settings and apply that preset either one image at a time or to all of them on import.
