Does LR do something to hot pixels?

My friend just bought a used camera (D3) and while checking it out we discovered several hot pixels. We can easily see them (on the raw image) in Faststone and Picassa, but when we put the image in LR and even in Photoshop, they are not to be found. While searching around we found a sort of mention about software mapping out hot pixels or something. Does Adobe automagically do something so that hot pixels don't show up? Anyone experience this before?

Yeah, clever, eh?

It only works on proper raw files - no sRAW etc. and no JPEG - but when it works, it really works!
