Lightroom 1.x doesn't allow me to organize the tags manually. This is a big issue for me as Lightroom seems to organize the tags typed in Chinese in an illogical manner. I'm wondering if Lightroom 2.' changes that? Can anyone here test this out for me? Thanks!

My Chinese is.... well.... non-existent!

The keywords are sorted alpha-numerically, and as LR isn't currently localized for Chinese, I'm guessing that would explain the arrange illogical sort order. As far as I know, that won't have changed in 2.'.

However one thought for you - try putting the keywords into a hierarchy of your choice. That way you have more control over the order in which things are sorted.

How do you control the order of the keywords for English tags then? IIRC, Lightroom 1.x doesn't even allow me to rearrange the order of the keywords.

You don't control the order Sgt_Strider - it sorts them into number/alphabetical order automatically. But if you want them sorted differently - i.e. categories of 'people', 'places' etc., you can drag/drop them into a hierarchy in 1.x or 2.'. Just make a parent keyword (i.e. people) and drag those keywords onto it. Within that parent keyword, they will still be sorted alpha-numerically, but it makes it much tidier and easier to find them.

Thanks for the information. Do you know of another program that will allow me to sort the tags manually or at least to the order of my desire? This program needs to be compatible with Canon XTI .CR2 files. Thanks!

No idea I'm afraid. I would have thought that most would use an alpha-numeric sort.

bump!

Does anyone here know of another program that allows me to manually edit the order of the keywords?
