Hi, I've been trying to find the answer but just can't seem to come up with the right search terms..
I'm wondering if all photos need to show up in the middle import dialog for Lightroom to import all photos that would be selected according to the left pane rules?

For instance, say I have a folder selected and it has subfolders - and I have the option checked to 'include all subfolders'. Do I need to wait for the middle section to populate, or can I just click on 'Import' right away and it will get them all no matter what?

I've had it one time where it seemed to have gotten them all regardless, and another time where it looked to be finishing up awfully fast for importing all subfolders. So I don't know for sure at this point.
(In case you're wondering, this isn't for my own image collection - it's for a different situation of about several hundreds of thousands of images.. Hence the reason I'd rather not wait for that initial dialog to show them all, since I'll be waiting for them to import right after that anyways. :) )

Thanks.

From a very quick test it seems to me that even if you hit the Import button almost as soon as you've selected the main folder (i.e. before the centre grid has time to fully populate), the import process will still work its way through the entire set of sub-folders to import all the files.
