Hi,

I'm currently storing all my picture in .NEF format + .xmp the sidecar file. I've set my preference to write the info in the sidecar file.

Now, I tried convert .NEF into .DNG, marked to delete the original file after successful convertion, but when i look at the folder .xmp file are still hanging around in the folder.

What happes to all my keywords tag, development setting, are they stored inside the dng or i still need to keep the .xmp file.

Sajid,

What tool are you using to do the DNG conversion? That'll help us figure out what's happening with the XMP files.

Regardless, the resulting DNG *should* contain your adjustments and metadata. You may want to verify/test this by copying a DNG file to a test folder, creating a new test LR folder, and importing it.

Is this a way for Beta 2 to read the develop settings made in 1.3.1?
Or is there another way?

When I open files processed by 1.3.1 in Beta2 they seem 'untouched'.......

And for any you've already imported, select them (having written out to xmp in 1.3.1) and choose Metadata menu > Read Metadata from Files.

Kjell, If you write out the XMP in 1.3.1 with Command-S, LR 2.' beta will read it on import.

Thanks for the tips, Mark and Victoria, but......

Just using Command-S doesn´t seem to do the trick - I tried to Update DNG Preview and Metadata to my DNG files and that seems to work.
It is a bit confusing - is Save Metadata to file just for jpgs?

Save Metadata to File should work on all files, including DNG's, whereas Update DNG Preview and Metadata should update the preview file as well.

That said, I haven't spent enough time with DNG's to have checked that really carefully.

Glad you got it working!
