DNG Metadata Quirk ???

I recently decided that I want to geo-tag my images, and purchased HoudahGeo for Mac for that purpose. Long story short, in LR, the date and time metadata are correct, however when I export the images to Houdah for tagging, the times re-set to four hours earlier. This does NOT happen when I export the images as jpegs, but that doesn't help me because I want to append the geotags to my dng images. In digging through the EXIF data, we have discovered that some software is applying a "Time Zone Offset" without adjusting the "Date/Time Original" metadata displayed. LR is the only software that touches my images out of the camera, but I sure can't find where or how this could be happening in LR.

I want to bump this because in searching other forums, there are other complaints about the phenomenon. Described differently, in the conversion to DNG, it appears that LR applies a time zone adjustment to the metadata based upon the computer's clock, in effect double-counting one's GMT adjustment (in the case of images taken in the same time zone in which the computer resides). I'm looking for a workaround for this, and I'm surprised it hasn't attracted more attention because there have to be lots of people who (a) geotag their images and (b) work with DNGs.

Hi Kent, give version 2 trial a shot - a lot of the date/time bugs have been fixed (and there were quite a few!)

Thanks Victoria. I saw on Adobe's forum an assertion that this is addressed in LR2 (ironically, I'm not sure Adobe sees it as a bug; I think it was a deliberate design choice). I'll be all over v. 2.'.1!
