DNG Files

New to LR Forums, looking for help. Can't open DNG files in OS X Preview App. When I import into Lightroom from my camera I use the option to convert to DNG ... no problem opening those files even in the preview app. Other files already in Lightroom in Jpeg format that I converted to DNG I can't open, I can only see the file with its DNG symbol. Any help or ideas appreciated.

Hi Myles, welcome to the forum!

At a guess, OSX can only understand more 'traditional' DNG files - those from raw data. Any particular reason you're converting jpegs to DNG? You understand that they're not becoming raw data, but are just changing the wrapper?
