In the library module, when I enter keywords under the 'keywording' panel, they are ordered alphabetically automatically. Is there a way to disable this?

I check the exported files, the keywords are indeed ordered alphabetically.

No, there's no way to do that.

This is a system issue. Lists are usually sorted. Most default to alphanumeric. Some Apps Like LrCs image sort offer other sort parameters. So does Finder. Keyword is a field in the EXIF/ITPC file header. Since the list needs to be in some order, what order do you expect? How would you go about searching a randomly ordered list?

If you have a flat keyword list, you can provide some different alpha sorting by creating a hierarchy.

I have some keywords that are special and not included on export, these are used by me to control certain smart collection criteria. I want them to appear at the top of my list so they begin with combinations of "*, !, @, etc". to sort at the top of my keyword list

This is one of the few dozen more popular feature requests over the years. Some stock agencies, including Adobe Stock, ask submitters to put the most relevant keywords first, but LR sorts the keywords alphabetically before inserting them into industry-standard metadata fields. LR users have asked for an option that would disable that:

(Adobe Bridge maintains the entered keyword order.)

LR 11 introduced a very limited ability for LR to submit ordered keywords to Adobe Stock using an Adobe-proprietary metadata field. But it was poorly designed and very difficult to use:

I'm guessing the LR team implemented this feature under higher-management diktat to support Adobe Stock, and the LR team expended the least effort required.

This is precisely why I need keywords to be ordered in a certain way. Sounds like there is no plan to make it happen.
