I have a pre- CC version of Lightroom - 5.5 - and have just gone for the CC photographers option. I have upgraded to PS CC but wonder whether it is worth upgrading to the CC version of Lightroom?

Welcome to the forum.

LR v5.5 is the same code no matter how it is obtained. There is no "CC" version of LR. There is a Windows compile and an OSX compile. However, the current version of LR is v5.6 and if you Use the CC app, it will automatically update you to the latest release of LR.

There is one minor difference that I discovered recently. If you have installed and licensed any of Jeffery Friedl's plug-ins then you will need to re-register them. Even though two versions are the same they have a different license key and from Jeffery's licensing system are seen as a major release. Not a big problem but a bit of a bother if you have a number of plug-ins.
