Hello-
I just started using a Nikon Z6iii along with my older Z6. I use both cameras in the same setting with different lenses. Both cameras are set with the same color profiles, white balance, etc. The OOC raw files look the same, but when I apply presets or paste settings in Lightroom the color tones are very different between the Z6 and Z6iii files.
I noticed this a few years ago with two Z6 cameras (with same settings). Magenta was supersatured after applying settings in one camera file. The problem seemed to go away but not sure how.
Any suggestions on how to fix this color tone difference??

You are unable to see RAW files SOOC. What you are seeing in a JPEG created by the camera settings in the camera and attached as a thumbnail to the RAW data file. Color profiles, WB etc. does not apply to RAW files, only on the JPEGs produced by the camera in the Camera.

As for things like the magenta saturation, Have you used a colorimeter to calibrate your monitor? For Color viewed out of Lightroom Classic, you should always have a calibrated monitor.

For the other differences. In the case of the Z6iii, I would suspect that Nikon has “improved” this camera sensor collection over its predecessor. Another thing to check is the Firmware versions on each camera. The Latest for type C of the Z6iii is 1.10 (2/26/2025) and the Z6 is 3.70 (07/17/2024). Since the firmware does not match, I would expect the results from each camera to be different and need different adjustments to develop the image properly in LrC.

Upload a couple pairs of raws showing the issue to Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive or similar free service and post the sharing link here. That would make the discussion much more efficient.

The sensors in these two models are not identical, so it would not be unusual for two identical pictures (one from each camera) to have some minor differences. Still, it would be helpful to see some sample files to see if there is something else contributing to the differences.
