Suddenly in 2.6rc, in the develop module, all my vertical shots are stretched into landscape. I cannot find a setting anywhere that will fix this. Help!

(i originally said "loupe view" which was incorrect).

Re: Loupe view stretching

Hi ZeekFoto, welcome to the forum!

Can you post a screenshot? What happens if you look at the photo in Develop module - does it correct itself? What camera are these files from?

Re: Loupe view stretching

Sorry... shud have elaborated a bit... This is happening in the Develop module. Lib module ok. A "normal" vert shot... 8''hx6''w is showing 6''hx8''w. These are JPGs from my Sony a3'' (i usually only shoot RAW so there you go!). Have not ever had this prob before with either this cam or my a7''. Just magically appeared this eve.

Wow... is this really some freaky thing that no one has ever seen before? It's truly driving me bats. It's like there's suddenly a "zoom to fill" setting on somewhere (in Develop only) but i can find no such thing anyplace. I've deleted all previews and rebuilt them at 1:1 but same thing... Develop after "loading" will stretch what should be a vertical (or "portrait") orientation into a "landscape" orientation... and of course distorting the entire shot. Arrrghhhhhh.....

To see that in the Develop module is indeed quite weird! I've seen it in Library, but not in Develop.

So, is this happening with files that were fine before, or is this specific to new files?

Just older stuff... haven't determined an exact cutoff date... or any other common denominator. New stuff is all ok, no probs there. Since there's no setting anywhere that would be causing this... i'm wondering if there's some metadata info that's being read? Still makes no sense tho that it would only be Develop module and not Library, which is how it is. I might try removing them from the catalog and adding them back to see if that fixes anything.

Personally I might try importing them into a clean catalog (set to add at existing location, so it doesn't mess up your main catalog) and see if that does the trick.

Re: Develop view stretching - Problem Solved

I found that if i re-read the metadata file on the "stretched" file it would fix it. No clue why that is... must be some hidden/non-viewable metadata parameter that somehow got changed. These were all JPGs, shot on my old ?3'' over a year ago. It only happened on one small set of files.

So all's well now... thanks for the help.

Oh that's good Scotty. It's been a problem with Fuji in the past, but I hadn't heard of it on Sony.
