Develop settings don't export?

When I do something like adjust exposure or remove red eye from a picture, then export that picture, the IPTC metadata gets exported, but the pixels in the exported picture are just the way they came off the camera; they don't show the exposure adjustments or red eye removal. What have I done wrong?

I found my answer!

In the Export dialog, under File Settings, I had Format: set to Original. When I changed it to JPEG it started exporting my pictures with both IPTC metadata and pixel-level changes, just like you'd expect. Thanks for reading!
