Develop New setting not auto on change image

As I understand it: in Develop> paintbrush icon> 'New' setting is not default on changing an image, you have to remember to select 'new'

I would like to suggest that it is made so that it is 'new' by default, maybe with a modifier to select last used, as soon as the image is changed

I can see me forgetting again and again otherwise

What do others think?

I expect that there will User Interface (UI) changes resulting from the beta process, make your thoughts known to the design team.
