Deleting issue

I am having problems deleting the images I have marked as rejected. When I press Ctrl+Backspace, the rejected images are shown and I have to confirm I want to delete the images from disk. So far no problems.

When I select 'Delete from Disk' the only thing that happens is that one image becomes invisible (see attachment). Also the images are not deleted at all, or not as quickly as usual (takes several minutes).

I have tried deleting the images several times, restarted Lightroom, optimized the catalog but nothing seems to work.

Anyone had this problem before? Hope somebody has a solution.

Is your recycle bin full Dirk? And do you have read/write permissions for wherever they're stored?
