First post from a longtime LR user:

I've edited a bunch of images in a collection and marked some as Rejected. Now I want to delete those images - move them to the trash. From within the collection it only seems to give me the option of removing them from the collection. And the Rejection Tags don't seem to follow the images when I view them under All Photographs. I'm sure I'm missing something simple here but don't know what it is.

Thanks all!

Welcome to the forums Morgan!

What you missed is that images can belong to more than one collection. Lightroom do not assume that you want to remove an image from everywhere it may appear!

Flags are local by design. What is a pick in a collection may not be a pick in another...

What you can do with one you want to delete from disk is right click it and choose "Show in folder". Deleting from there will also delete it from any collection it may appear to be in. Always best to make your rejects before putting them into collection! Does this makes sense?

Denise - I understand the thinking behind the collections and tags now. It is just not the way my workflow is set up. Probably should rethink my method.

Mark - That is what I was looking for. That did what I needed to do.

Thanks both! Big help!

Yes, Mark is always right on target! :D
My name is Denis... (French version for Dennis).

Sorry, Denis! Mark's solution was perfect but would have seemed odd without your description of Collections. Thanks again! ;)
