One thing I find very annoying about Lightroom (1.4 and 2.') is the amount of time it takes to "Delete from Disk". Why does this take 5-1' seconds to complete? the first image I delete takes more time than the following images. The image files are Canon RAW (CR2) from a 4'D and range in size from 1' MB to 15 MB. Removing an image from the catalog is nearly instantanious.

I'm running Vista Ultimate 32 Bit on an Dell XPS41' (Intel Core2Duo 2.4Ghz) with 2GB RAM.

If it's the first time you've done any kind of delete since you booted the machine, it's probably the windows explorer (recycle bin and all) waking up and going to work. I notice the same thing outside of Lightroom the first time I delete a file -- size of the file makes no difference, if it's the first delete action since the machine was turned on, it seems to take a really long time, even if the file is just a 1 KB text file.

If the next delete takes just as long, then it might be a lightroom issue.
