Delete from Disk bug?

Hallo,

I found very strange bug in LR 2.' and didn't find the answer in this forum (if it's here, sorry!).

1) I am in library mode, no other sw dealing with the photo I am working on, I have administration rights all right and I have my Recycle bin empty.
2) I want to delete (I know... send it to recycle bin...) the photo from disk so I click on it and hit DEL. The dialogue comes with the 3 buttons and now the funny part starts.
3) The "Delete from Disk" button is marked (dotted) by default so I suppose that after I hit the ENTER the Photo WILL be really deleted from the Disk (sent to recycle bin)... Actually, it is JUST Removed as the second button in dialogue says, it disappeares from LR BUT stays on disk where it was.
4) If I hit TAB 3 times and the doted rectangle moves from button to button back to the "Delete from Disk" (it is marked again) and AFTER that I hit ENTER, then LR does what the button says and the Photo ends up in recycle bin finally.
5) The second solution is to hit it with the mouse but this bug seems to me really annoying. If I forget to do it I need to compare numbers of pics in cat with the pics on disk and then erase the pics again which is tedious and annoying.

If I found something ever mentioned and even solved I am sorry.

Hi maar, welcome to the forum!

Are you Mac or PC based? That certainly sounds like a bug, in which case, I'd report it using the Official Feature Request/Bug Report Form

If you do forget, you could right click on the folder and choose Synchronize Folder. That will reimport any you just deleted, and if they will be shown in the 'Previous Import' collection. As long as everything else was already in the catalog, that Previous Import collection should just hold the ones that you've just deleted, making it easy to have another go!

I use PC (win XP). I didn't test it in 2.1 RC because I don't have it.

Thank You for the tip anyway, it is useful and as far as I know now it is the only solution if my memory fails

It is not a bug but a nice choice to have! I explain:

In windows, when you do not want to use the mouse to click a button, there are four keys to remember: Tab, Shift, Enter and Space Bar.

• Tab is used to put the focus on the next control or button.
• Shift-Tab is used to put the focus on the previous control or button.
• Enter is equivalent to clicking the button having focus.
• Space Bar is equivalent to clicking the button having dotted lines around its text.

The button having focus and the one with dotted lines are frequently the same but NOT ALWAYS! How to differentiate? Easy: The button having focus is the one with a stronger shadow around.

So to "Delete from disk" press "Space Bar" and from Lightroom only, you guessed it, press "Enter". But if you do use the "Tab" key, the button having focus and the one with the dotted lines will become the same...

Now I want to put the problem upside down for myself:

As I am new to Mac-OS, I do not know how to change the focus of a control or a button with the keyboard the way I explained above. So, I am always stuck going back to find mouse on desk, find pointer on screen, click appropriate button. Any hint someone?
