I screwed up when installing LR and used the default settings for where to import images to. (I hate it when you hit the enter key instead of the shift key.)Now I am not able to change it to my d drive. I have not imported photos into LR yet. I am ready to uninstall it and start over.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm running a PC/Vista with a Raptor 15'gb hard drive(C) for my OS,PS3, and LR with another hard drive(D) for data and photos. I want make the 2nd hard drive the default place to import to.

Not to worry! You can decide where to import when you do the import. If you want to have your catalog on D as well just create a catalog there and use that. :)

In my opinion, the easy way is to put the files where you want them outside of Lightroom. Then the next time you fire up Lightroom, it'll complain that they're missing. Right-click on the top-level folder and choose "Locate missing folder...". Navigate to the new location, and you're good to go.

You can also do this within Lightroom -- if the correct destination isn't already visible in Lightroom, Victoria has a blog entry on how to make it visible. What's the URL, Victoria?

I agree with Mark. The operating system is the best tool to handle situations like these...By default I assume you mean a Lightroom Catalog was created in the My Documents > My Pictures folder and you want to move it elsewhere.

Make sure Lightroom is not running, then use your file manager to move the Catalog to where you prefer. Then hold down the CTRL (Command) key and double-click the Lightroom icon. Lightroom will start up with a dialog box with various options including a drop-down list...select the location of your catalog in the drop-down list, and then click the SELECT button. You can also make sure the "Always load this catalog" check box is selected too.

After moving the Catalog you could just click the Catalog to start LR, as well.
