i've downloaded successfully images from new Nikon D850 into LR (NEF converted to DNG) Library looks fine however going to Develop module - it says 'file can't be found' - Help?!
all triangles are dots not solid

The library just shows you previews, so if the original images are missing from where Lightroom thinks they should be, you will still see the images, but with a small indicator (exclamation mark). The develop module needs the original however. So where did you store the images during import, and is that location available? Maybe they are stored on an external disk that is not connected?

thanks i understand this however interestingly there was no exclamation mark only 'this file is missing'. the external HD was connected.
has something to do with LR Classic CC and D850 and the catalogue maybe? i've never had all the files with dotted arrows (not solid) before. i have updated recently from LR 15 to Classic CC and both are still on my mac laptop.
