Custom Sort Criteria ~

I am struggling with finding the right technique for sorting images in a collection in a custom order so that when I upload to WEB or a Slide show, they are in the order I want.

I have been using the Library/Survey View after selecting a Collection. This is the only place I have found that will allow me to move the images around, but there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to it here... Move an image to the front and all the others seem to reorder on their own.

Suggestions?

Instead, create your collection, and view it in Grid mode. Make sure you haven't got any sub-collections, otherwise custom sort order won't work. Then just drag and drop the images into the order you want - being careful to pick up the images by the middle of the image, not the border around the edge.

That's the bit every misses Michael.

My favourite related tip which someone else pointed out to me - if you have a whole load of images selected, and you just want 1 selected, click in the grey border around edge, and it will deselect all of the others. Blinding flash of the obvious, that one was!
