Hitting Ctrl-E brings up CS3 without giving me the opportunity to select settings in the options window that is supposed to pop up but doesn't.

Also, a direct save in CS3 follwed by an exit and the edited file is not in LR2, I have to import it. From reading Photoshop Mag this appears to not be the correct behavior of LR2.

Help?

Matt

Hi Matt

Have you upgraded to LR 2.1 release candidate yet? That solved many of the Edit in Photoshop bugs that were present in 2.'.

Ctrl-E now opens directly into PS, so that you can save as any format you like. If you prefer Lightroom to create a Tiff or PSD, as it did in 1.x, set PS as the second external editor.

In LR2.', the prompt dialog sometimes shows but sometimes doesn't appear at all.

But for the issue Matt mentioned that the *-Edit.psd file needs to be re-imported, actually, it needn't to re-import, the -Edit file would be in LR automatically, but not at the same folder in LR (In physical folder, they have the same directory). You may find the new file on the left panel.

Just tested in LR2.1 RC, this issue is gone.

You may try LR2.1 RC.

RC 2.1 reportedly fixed many of these issues; note that the editing behaviors between LR and PS also require the latest build of Photoshop to work correctly. Keep LR and PS up-to-date.

(Maybe this is how Adobe will ensure we all need both Lightroom and Photoshop for years to come?)

Welcome to our Forum, Nathaniel! The more the merrier!
