Cropping to specific dimensions

What is the simplest way top crop an image to a specific dimension? For example, how would one crop to exactly half the height and width?
I mean, it would be nice to have a crop ruler or somewhere to specify crop percentages. We have that for export and printing but AFAIK not for cropping.

In the Crop tool, in the top right corner, there's a dropdown menu of crop ratios - you can choose one of the preset ones, or create your own using the "Enter Custom..." choice. There's also a lock icon for forcing whatever choice you have made to stay fixed while you drag the edges and corners of the crop.

The crop tool crops to a specific aspect ration, not to specific dimensions. For example, for a twices as high as wide you could use 1x2 or 2x4 or 3x6, Etc. which are all twice as high as wide. Reverse the numbers if you want twice as wide as high. But this is a ratio not a dimension. The 1x2 ccould product an image 1"x2" or 10"x20" for 13.56"x27.12". Remember, these are not measurements in inches or centimeters, thay are the top and bottom numbers of a fraction that form an aspect ratio.

If you need specific dimensions such as 10" x 20" start with the crop tool and use use any aspect ration that is the same as your 10x20 (e.g., 5x10, 1x2 or simply 10x20). Then in the export dialog use the "Image Sizing" section to specify the number of inches for either the long or short side. Or, in the print module, after setting the paper size, use the Layout panel to set the Cell Size to your dimensions (e.g. 10 x 20)
