Crop tool

I am very new to LR
I just bought LR2 and this crop tool is not doing what I want.
How do I move the crop without the tool altering every side of the image.

The short answer is probably to unlock the "original" aspect ratio in the tool panel as shown in the screen grab attached.

okay, one more question,
my crop tool does not show up in the bottom row under the image, above the film strip. Is there a way to get it there for fast find?

Nope, that is the place for tools at the moment.
Laurel would you take a moment to fill in your signature please as it helps answering queries - you will find the place to do it in the "userCP" - top left of the page.

You might find the 'R' key handy for skipping straight to crop Laurel, and welcome to the forum!
