Crop Tool

Hi I'm new so I'm sure this will have been mentioned before.

I love lightroom but the crop tool is really annoying! I have to crop large numbers of images to the SAME size, which means for every one I have to scroll through a list of suggested sizes to get to the one that I just used.

I used to have a preset crop (but I still had to select the crop tool and then move the box into the right position) but I can't even make that work in 2 beta.

Can we please have a crop tool that remembers the last size used ( like PS).

Well you could just set the initial crop for all of them by Selecting them all and cropping one for ratio and syncing/auto-syncing all off them for just crop. Then tweaking position of each, one at a time.

Or even easier -- select them all in Grid, then set the aspect ratio in Quick Develop.

Thanks, I hadn't noticed the little triangle that exposes the crop ratio in quick develop, at least that saves me scrolling down the menu every time but as I don't want them all cropped the same way ( just the same size) I still need to reposition the crop each time. It just seems a lot slower than cropping in PS.

It just takes a slightly different way of thinking Clive.

Use QD to set the ratio you want - that's the same as setting the dimensions in your PS crop bar, and then as you go through each image, you move/drag it to suit the picture, as you would when working through your images in PS. It's quicker when you get the hang of it, as you don't have to wait as long for each image to open/close.
