Crop Presets

As a motorsports event shooter, I tend to shot in a style that requires cropping for the final product. Here is my wish list related to the crop features in LR:

1. Have more of the standard crop sizes available in the standard list box.
I use 12 x 8 for 99% of my work....would be great to have in the list

2. Have some way that I can toggle a preset size for crop mode, so that I don't have to constantly click crop, click the size desired, then crop my image, then double click to select. By selecting a preset in a menu setting or preference setting, when I do click crop, it would be at my desired preset.

Currently this is my most desired item........

For 12 x 8 use 6 x 4, it's the same proportions. The settings are not a size, they are a ratio.

Hi RB, welcome to the forum!

You can add your own custom crop presets on a rolling list of 5 - as you add a new one, the oldest drops off.

If you want to set a default crop ratio, select the images in Grid view, choose your crop ratio in the Quick Develop panel, and then when you work through them in Develop module, you can adjust the crop to taste, but it'll already be set to the right ratio.

Welcom RB!

If you prefer to work in Develop module, you can activate the crop tool "R", choose you ratio and adjust with the padlock closed. Then, without deactivating the crop tool, you can go to the next image and just press "S" to get the Same aspect ratio as was last used.
