This is NOT a LR issue per se, but I was wondering whether anyone might have some ideas...
I have a problem with a flash card shot on a 4'D. I couldn't read it with LR or PS. After running recovery software I managed to "recover" 9'% of the files. When I view these in the Apple Finder, they look fine. When I import them into LR they initially look fine but then as the processing continues, about 5'% of them become corrupted; the same thing happens when double-clicking them in the Finder and therefore using ACR. I presume that this means that the preview images (JPEGs?) are OK but the RAW file is not. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can save these?
Thanks in advance for any help...

Hi Kevin

Yes, your assumption is correct - the embedded jpeg previews are fine but the raw data is corrupted. A few programs can extract the embedded jpeg, which is probably your best option. From memory, BreezeBrowser on Windows or PhotoMechanic on Mac I think both offer that option, and have free trials available.
