Corrupt Catalogue???

I was in Lightroom last night, going through some picture files in Library. I then had a popup message that I had a corrupt catalogue. Lightroom shut down. I couldn't get back into Lightroom. I tried the catalogue fix and it didn't. Went to Adobe website and, as usual, no help. Now to get into Lighroom, I must hold down Ctrl as I clcik on the Lighroom icon. Then I must select an older catalogue. When I then get into Lightromm it is the 2.' version, not the 2.2 version. How can I get rid of all this corrupt stuff. I don't care if I lose the catalogue or not. I just want to click on my icon, get into Lightroom 2.2. Any help out there? Thanks in advance.

I'm not entirely sure why it's reverting to 2.' - that just sounds like there's an incorrect link on your system somewhere. Obvious solution would be to just reinstall 2.2 which should fix all of your shortcuts.

With regard to your catalog, it may be possible to rescue. For a start, check in the folder that contains your catalog and see if there's a *.lock file in that folder while LR's closed - if there is, you can delete it, and you may be able to open it ok. If that doesn't do the trick, you can probably start a fresh catalog and use Import from Catalog to import from your corrupted catalog a bit at a time.
