Hi,

My lightroom CC program has been running very very slowly lately. I decided to check my 2012 mac mini system to see exactly what I have for hardware. I also have just run "optimize catalog" as a starting point and have discovered I have a corrupt. It has been a couple of years since I optimized my catalog so now I have many many additional images in my catalog so I don't want to lose all my efforts.

How can I restore my "current" corrupt catalog please?

Thanks,

Bob

What you can try is the following. Create a new catalog, then use ‘File - Import from Another Catalog’ and import your old catalog. Check the option to not move the images, but leave them where they are. When the import is finished, you should have a new catalog that is identical to the old one, except for any publishing services you may have.

If this worked fine, then this will be your new catalog from now on. Activate the option to make regular catalog backups, because that will verify the integrity and optimize the catalog in the process.
