Should we delete from disc or just remove from catalogue. Either way there is aI assume nothing actually to delete from disk but maybe from a database point of viw there is a preferable way or one might be faster?
I think, that enough to remove missing images from the catalogue, because LR's catalogue is just database, that sores meta information about files on yours hard drive. If there is no file, then no information needed for it.

Depends on what you are actually trying to accomplish. 'Remove from catalog' just causes LR to forget about the image. Removes all references to the image in the catalog (database), but does NOT remove the original image from the disk.
'Delete from disk' does the same thing, as far as LR and the catalog are concerned, but ALSO removes your original image from the disk. It's gone, kaput, forever. Well, actually, on Win at least, it's in the recycle bin. But, if you empty the recycle bin, then it really is gone bye bye.
Remove from catalog is faster as it's not having to delete the file off disc as well. Don't go hitting 'delete from disc' and wonder where your pictures have gone, will you! It does exactly what it says - deletes from DISC!
