What is the best way to batch your settings like when I adjust the exposure in the develop module? When I hit the copy button that's fine, but when I select more than one image to paste it onto, it only accepts the first one. I know about the Sync setings in Library module, but it is grayed out. There has to be an easier way....

Lisa,

Select all the target images in the Develop module filmstrip. Make adjustments to the 'most selected'

There should be a button at bottom of Develop Right Hand Panel, called 'Sync ...' Click that, and you should get a dialog asking which specific settings are to be sync'd/copied to the other selected images.

Alternatively, select all the target images in the Develop module filmstrip. Hold down cmd/ctrl, and the 'Sync....' button turns to 'AutoSync', click that, and any changes made to the 'most selected' will be sync'd to the remaining selected. Don't forget to turn it off when you're done, that causes no end of headaches.

If you will be applying exactly the same settings to multiple shoots, you can save a develop preset with those settings. There are several aways to apply develop presets to numerous images.

I'm not sure why your sync button is grayed out in Library.

AutoSync can cause mistakes if you're not concentrating, but it's the fastest way to work. So when you're done, don't switch it off - take a breather, have a coffee.

Yeah, I'd agree with John on this one (sorry Brad! ;)) I started out turning AutoSync on and off, and it confused me no end. I then tried leaving it on all of the time - so it was the behaviour I was automatically expecting - and then used shortcuts for Previous and normal Sync. Got used to it very quickly once I did that, and haven't looked back.

I'm with Brad -- I normally work on only one image, then sync. That's mostly because a lot of what I do includes cropping, and on my box cropping lots of images with autosync is very, very slow.
