Copy & Paste Settings in LR2.5

I've just recently come back to Lightroom after a spell of using, er, a rival product. Don't hate me ... anyway ...
Installed the 2.5 update today (Macbook Pro, OSX 1'.6.1). All going happily except when I copy & paste settings. If I have an image where I have used Auto White Balance and then copy/paste the settings it pastes the Auto setting rather than the actual white balance value. If I change the white balance to Custom (without altering the values) copy/paste pastes the actual values, which is of course what I was after. Not deadly, but annoying.
Is this new or did it always do this? Am I doing it wrong? Is it a bug? Checked the very wonderful Victoria's equally wonderful Missing FAQ book but I can't find anything about this.

It has always done this, and it trips up most everyone at some point. Sounds like a good one for the next edition, Victoria...

It's not that silly, once you understand what's happening. You're syncing the "As Shot" preset, not the temp & tint values. If you were syncing the values, there'd be no way to sync the "As Shot"-ness, at least not without a more complicated user interface.

If you often apply in-camera white balance presets, custom white balance, or degrees kelvin you absolutely need this function to work as it is today.

Don't worry Graeme, I still go back to Aperture now and then, especially when I get angry at LR's crappy UI ! I'm praying that LR 3 will be better and that Aperture 3 won't - otherwise I'll be moving everything back again.

Actually, having slept on it, what you're saying makes perfect sense
